Danielle and Allan’s Fillmore Glen Wedding

I wanted to share some of the pictures from a beautiful wedding I shot last summer with you! Danielle is a mature, beautiful, intelligent, and responsible woman. I was so honored to photograph her wedding and capture that special day. Allan is such a great guy. He is everything that you would hope for in a husband. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!2013-01-08_019 2013-01-08_020 2013-01-08_021 2013-01-08_022 2013-01-08_023 2013-01-08_024 2013-01-08_025 2013-01-08_026 2013-01-08_027 2013-01-08_028 2013-01-08_029 2013-01-08_030

Danielle and Steven’s Rustic Lakeside Wedding

Have you ever seen a gorgeous rustic lakeside wedding turn into a trash the dress session in the same day?  Where the bride, groom, and photographer jumped into the lake after the reception and got some awesome photos? Well you are about to! Not only that, but this wedding was chop full of DIY (do it yourself) details, lace, burlap, and gorgeousness! I can’t wait to share it with you! It was a peaceful summer day next to lake Ontario. It was pouring in the morning but the sun came out just in time.  I’ll start by showing you some of the lovely details from the day!2013-01-01_018 2013-01-01_021 2013-01-01_019 2013-01-01_012 2013-01-01_020

2013-01-01_022 2013-01-01_026The bride is one of my college roommates and very best friends. She is one of the sweetest people I know but she is also a firecracker! She is always coming up with something funny and witty to say. On this particular day she was so calm, happy, and relaxed. It really set the mood for the whole day. Also I have to say she looked absolutely breath taking on her wedding day.

2013-01-01_015 2013-01-01_024 2013-01-01_025This was actually only the second time I have met Steven. Even after only briefly meeting him it’s obvious that these two are perfect together. They compliment each other. Also when you are around them it’s just so obvious how in love they are with each other. It’s just oozing from them! They decided to do the “first look” which resulted in some great pictures.

After doing the first look we went to do some bridal party pictures. I had a lot of fun with this crew! Also we had a lot of time to do portraits (2+ hours!) which is awesome. We were able to go to three different locations.

Then a gorgeous lakeside ceremony took place.

Here are a few of the details from the ceremony. I loved the light blue, burlap, and lace.

And for the moment you have all waited for…when we jumped into the lake! I love that they wanted to do this. Don’t worry we didn’t have to swim. The water went up to our waists. It was so much fun. We got some irreplaceable pictures as well.2013-01-01_071 2013-01-01_073 2013-01-01_074 2013-01-01_072 2013-01-01_075 2013-01-01_076

I had such a wonderful time photographing this wedding. I wish them a lifetime of happiness and love! What an absolutely blessed day.

Jenny and Brent’s Marina Couple’s Session

Jenny contacted me about doing a couple’s session to get some professional pictures of the two of them. They had already had a gorgeous destination wedding in Jamaica. However they never got any engagement pictures taken so we decided to venture around Ithaca to take some pictures of them together.

They also wanted to include their sweet pup in some of the pictures!

I have known Jenny since high school but this was my first time meeting her now husband Brenton. They make an amazing couple- it’s so obvious the love they have for one another!

I had a great time taking these pictures and meeting Brent. Best wishes for you both and your marriage!

Geneva Family Shoot

Kristina contacted me after getting my name from a friend of mine. I loved shooting in new locations and actually Geneva is a perfect location between Ithaca and Buffalo. This is really the sweetest family. I loved working with them. It’s clients like these that make my job so enjoyable. It doesn’t hurt that they have the cutest little guy ever! Seriously..just wait till you see him.

Rachel’s Glam Maternity Shoot

This was a special shoot because it was with my sister in law. Also because she is pregnant with my first niece! We are all so excited to meet her.  If you know Rachel at all, then you will understand why we decided to do a glam maternity shoot rather than just a regular one. It’s just so her! She loves it. So when she told me I could pick out her outfits and the location. I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it…black leather jacket, pink pumps, leopard print, fur, and lots of jewelry!

Rachel is such a beautiful person on the outside (obviously!) but also on the inside. She amazes me with her faith and her discipline in life. I am truly blessed to have her as my sister in law but also one of my best friends.

We started out in a more urban setting. I love the brick walls and fire escapes in the background. It was SUCH a windy day. Instead of complaining we just pretended that it was a huge fan and used it to our advantage!  You would laugh at some of the out takes of this session.

Then we went to a more rustic location. I just love everything about these next pictures. I had been eyeing this spot for a while and finally got to shoot there. It turned out just like I imagined.

These next two are my favorite from the session. She is just glowing and so gorgeous!

This is only part one of the maternity shoot. We are going to do another shoot with her husband Luke later in the month. So more goodness to come!

My Heartbeat

What if someone offered you your absolute dream job? Like if you could pick anything in the world…and money didn’t matter. What if it was there at your fingertips and actually coming true? Would you jump headfirst in? Would you hesitate for a moment-and pinch yourself to see if it was real?

Well here I am. Jumping headfirst into my absolute dream job. I fell in love with photography when I was 18. It was an unexpected romance. Of course like many people the idea of photography was always intriguing. But it wasn’t until I came across a photographer from Southern California that something was ignited in me that I could have never predicted. I remember looking at these pictures and just falling in love. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. He took a wedding day and created a masterpiece. It was art. It told the story through beauty and creativity. It was more than just pictures on a wedding day- it was capturing the feel for the day. Capturing the greatest love story and one of the most important day of people’s lives on a canvas of a lens. I loved it. It clicked for me. I began to regularly go to this site and found other photographers that I loved. I knew I was supposed to do that. It was my heartbeat and it was deep in me.

For a while it was just dream. I didn’t know what to do. Where to start. I didn’t know anything about cameras and I never had any extra money to start pursuing it. I just prayed about it. I felt this creativity building up inside me with nowhere to go. Until just recently, doors began to open. Door after door opened until I found myself standing there with a camera taking pictures of a wedding. Ah! It’s amazing. Sometimes I have to step back and breathe. It’s just all fallen into place so naturally and so quickly.  It seems like it’s just supposed to happen. I’m supposed to do this. It can be nerve racking at times because I have to risk. I have to follow something that for so long was just a dream and now is actually a reality. That can be a scary thing. But everything is telling me that this is right. I feel peace. I feel joy. I’m excited for the future. I’m excited for the vision and the opportunity to express what’s deep in my heart. I’m not exactly sure where God will take me or my business next. But I have given myself to him completely from day one and he has gotten me this far.

Here I am. Living my dream come true. To give my heart completely…and to be vulnerable. I’m excited to share this journey with you!
